Terms of Use

These terms govern access to and use of the website. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a search signifies acceptance. Anyone who does not agree must stop using the service.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is not affiliated with a government body, private investigation firm, or consumer reporting agency. Its content and linked advertising tools are not offered for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference website with no government affiliation. It does not store official criminal records, conduct official checks, retrieve documents, or file forms for visitors.

Its purpose is to identify Lenawee County and Michigan record sources, including courts, Sheriff Records, the Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry, while also offering links to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the website is conditioned on the following restrictions. You may not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool must not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate. Such conduct may violate the law. Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry information exists for public safety, and misuse against a listed person can carry criminal consequences. Vigilante conduct and discriminatory use are forbidden.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Website content and linked tools may not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

Any legally regulated check must come from an authorized official channel or a provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Michigan attorney can advise how a warrant, charge, conviction, or set-aside rule applies to a specific situation.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are provided "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dispositions, set-asides, and agency procedures change. Gaps or delays can occur, and nothing published here is an official statement from a court, sheriff, or government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to government portals, legal resources, and outside search providers that we do not control. We are not responsible for an external site's availability, content, privacy practices, terms, prices, or results.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Lenawee County Criminal History or the applicable content partner. Copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative work requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the website or reliance on content obtained here or from a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, actions, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the website or violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Michigan law governs these terms. A dispute tied to website use must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Michigan.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A new version becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended or terminated at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms stay in effect. The affected provision will be limited only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
